What to Do in 10 Minutes When You Feel Off
You’re not spiraling, you’re just off.
Maybe your energy’s weird, your mood’s dipped. You don’t know why—but something’s not clicking.
Give yourself 10 minutes without pressure. No deep healing journey, just a quick vibe reset.
Here’s what we reach for when things feel off.
1. Move Your Body (Even a Little)
Don’t think workout, you need circulation.
Walk around the block
Do 20 jumping jacks
Put on one song and dance like a weirdo in your room
Moving = instant shift. It clears your head and literally moves your mood.
2. Change Your Environment
Open a window
Light a candle
Go outside and feel the air
Energy stagnates. Shift the space, shift the vibe.
3. Cold Water Trick
Yes, this works.
Splash your face
Stick your head in the freezer (we’re not joking)
Run cold water over your wrists
Instant nervous system reset. Especially if you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck in your head.
4. Do a Quick Body Scan
Sit down. Breathe.
Ask yourself: Where in my body feels tense or weird?
Then: What would feel good right now? (Stretching? Tea? Silence?)
This gets you back in your body and out of the swirl.
5. Text a Friend Something Sweet or Random
Sometimes what you need is connection (not a full convo). Just a little signal to the world that you’re here.
Bonus: you’ll likely get a ping of love back.
6. Turn Off the Input
Phone on DND
Close all tabs
Stop scrolling for a second
Your brain might just be overstimulated. Ten minutes of silence can feel like magic.
7. Make Something With Your Hands
Cut a lemon
Make a matcha
Doodle something dumb
Wipe down a counter
Tactile stuff grounds you fast.
8. Say Something Out Loud
“I feel weird.”
That’s it. Acknowledge it. Out loud. Say it to the mirror or the ceiling.
You don’t have to fix it—but calling it out helps release it.
